Kim was born in Akron, Ohio, where she spent most of her life, except for the five and a half years she lived in Kennesaw, GA. In case you don't know, Ohio is where the patch of land by the road is called a devil strip, a vacuum is called a sweeper, and soda is called pop. And, of course, where LeBron is from.

She met her husband of 32 years in high school, and after a successful career in risk management and quality control, she left corporate to start a small business with her husband. They operate Two Old Souls, Inc., a licensed, full-service online auction firm specializing in downsizing and estate sale auctions. They also operate a vintage collectibles store called Reinventing Secondhand Vintage Treasures. The environment is important to them, and their passion is to keep as many vintage treasures as possible from reaching the landfill.

Kim is a voracious reader and has always had a penchant for writing and editing. She especially enjoys helping others share their stories with the world, offering ghostwriting and editing services and virtual office support to authors and entrepreneurs. She often writes about how vital our past is to understanding our present and how reinvention relates to being human; that is, the importance of "reinventing yourself" but staying true to the core of who you were meant to be. She believes we all have a unique brand of wisdom that comes with being "vintage," which must be treasured.

She lives with her husband in rural Ohio; in her spare time, she loves hanging out with her three precocious dachshunds (Louie, George and Henry), traveling, visiting historical sites and waterfalls, hiking, and playing word games. Aside from writing and running a small business and her pets, Kim is passionate about advocating for better diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain, illness, and rare diseases, having survived a rare spinal tumor in 2017. She is a self-described latte junkie and pizza connoisseur, and, being the transparent person she is, admits she had been accused of being a sarcasm guru, but, of course, she pleads The Fifth.
